Why Volatity Has Increased So Much

Interesting article discussing why volatility has increased so much in the stock market. See also my general discussion of financial market mechanisms. Also, the increased volatility could to some extent be self-reinforcing as any sell-off that is identified as such cause technical traders to sell off massively (including short selling) and similarly any rally will attract long positions.
