Stupid Phones

I've always thought it silly to call so-called "smart phones" smart. It implies that they can think, which they clearly can't. And illustrating the fact that they aren't smart in any way is the fact that they've gotten the switch from "Daylight Savings Time" (which BTW is a really stupid idea) to normal time in Israel all wrong, creating problems for all Israelis who rely on them as clocks and alarm clocks.

They have immediate access to all online information and all online people, they sense their surrounding and their extremely fast computer can be programmed almost anyway you like. That's pretty smart in my book. You can fix the clock/calendar settings as you want, but you might need to download and install a free app or upgrade, which could take up to an entire minute if you're unlucky. Still that's faster and easier than resetting traditional clocks manually.

Capable of functions isn't the same as being smart. "Smart" implies that they can think, which they clearly can't. So the term is clearly just a misleading name invented by marketing departments.

The fact that "smart phones" have failed to adjust automatically just illustrates this point even better.

You just demand that they be smarter than you are. That they keep track of daylight time for you because you yourself don't.

No, that was your most ridiculous posting ever. Admit the mistake and dig it down.

As I've already repeatedly pointed out you can't be smart unless you can think and since "smart phones" can't think they can obviously not be smart. And the fact that they don't automatically adjust reflects the fact they're not smart.

I'm not sure why you get so worked up about this issue, but if anyone should admit being wrong it's clearly you.
